Food Package: Pregnant Women

The WIC Pregnancy package contains foods to help you and your baby meet today’s nutrition needs as recommended by your health care provider during pregnancy.

It contains foods that:

  • are high in fiber and low in fat
  • promote a healthy weight gain
  • provide good variety and a great nutritious balance of vitamins and minerals
  • follow Dietary Guidelines, MyPlate, and infant feeding recommendations

It contains the following foods:

    • Iron-fortified cereal
    • Approved whole wheat/whole grain food, such as:
      • 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Buns, Rolls
      • Soft Corn/Whole Wheat Tortillas
      • Brown Rice
      • Whole Wheat Pasta
    • $11 for approved fruit and/or vegetables: fresh, frozen, or canned
    • Vitamin C-rich juice
    • Low-fat (1%) or fat-free (skim) milk
    • Dry or canned beans/peas
    • Peanut butter
    • Eggs
WIC is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
